AMAN DANCE EDUCATORS
Seasoned dance professionals from the former Aman International Folk Ensemble present carefully crafted folk dance programs that tie to curriculum and are driven by cooperation and teamwork.

Dance and Community: Increase focus, concentration, group cooperation, cohesiveness and develop feelings of success and self-confidence through traditional folk dances from various cultures. Students will use their bodies as active tools to learn about different cultures and to understand their own communities in new ways. They will engage in creative exercises giving them the ability to create their own movement vocabulary and their own community dance.

Fees: Mini-Residency- $125 per Session per Class
Residency- $100 per Session per Class
Minimum four classes per day must be scheduled.
Age Group: Grades Pre-K-12
Availability: Year Round
Capacity: 35 Students per Class

Dances of the United States/California: Explore dances that were brought to or created in the United States while developing coordination, focus, control, teamwork and partnering skills. This residency makes a direct connection to 4th and 5th grade social studies curriculum through the learning of dances from early U.S. history. The sessions can also include dances related to Fort Ross, California Ranchos and the Gold Rush.

Legends Through Dance: Discover basic elements that allow a dancer to communicate a story through the body. By exploring dances from other cultures, these workshops allow students to survey the basic elements of dance, learn how to communicate or tell a story through gestures and bring a legend to life through movement. This residency connects to the language arts standard, utilizing dance as a medium to tell stories.
